Computer Network

A computer network means an interconnection between two or more computers. This allows it to exchange data and share resources seamlessly between computers. Wireless connection is provided for connecting between multiple computers. Wireless systems use radio waves, microwaves and communication satellites. The devices within the network that can create files, terminate, are called nodes. The Internet is the biggest example of a computer network. The computer that can provide the sharing facility is called the server computer. The server always allows sharing but does not take advantage of any sharing. On the other hand, computers on the client-server network that only take advantage of sharing but cannot provide any sharing facility are called workstations or nodes or hosts.

Objectives of Network

There are many advantages when computers are networked. The purpose of the computer network is:

1 / File Sharing: Files can be easily shared between networked computers. As a result, files stored in one computer can be accessed from another computer.

2 / Hardware Resource Sharing: Hardware resource sharing is a major advantage of the computa network. Pinters connected to one computer can be printed from another computer. Moreover, data stored on a hard disk can be accessed or stored on one computer.

3 / Software Resource Sharing: All computers can be shared using different software on different computers without having to install the same software.

৪ / Low Cost: Resource sharing can cost a system implementation.

5 / Increase credibility: It is possible to store multiple copies of the same file on different computers. As a result, deleting a copy can be collected from another computer. As a result, the credibility of the human network increases.

6 / Balanced distribution of work: If the workload is too high on a computer, it can be done faster by distributing it to a sluggish computer.

7 / higher output or higher throughput: more results are available over a short period of time as a result of the network.

8 / Acceleration: Having multiple computers at the same time makes it possible to work faster.

9 / Database Management: Computer networks make it easy to manage, control, maintain or back up all data stored centrally on a server.

10 / Continued work: Office work can be done through the network even when you are away. As a result, work can be done on a continuous or continuous basis

11/ Security: Only certain users can access the network. As a result, privacy is protected.

The computer network can be mainly divided into four geographical categories;

PAN (Personal Area Network);

LAN {(Local Area Network);

MAN (Metropolitan Area Network);

WAN (Wide Area Network)

Personal Area Network or PAN

The network that is typically developed within computers and other information technology devices within an area of 5 meters or less is called PAN. These devices include telephone, mobile phone, PDA, printer, fax machine, scanner, digital camera, notebook, etc. Creating a PAN can have its own or wireless connection. USB and FireWare are used to create PAN. Bluetooth is used as a wireless medium for infrared. Its main features are as follows:

* The range is limited to 5 meters.

* Used in the exchange of information between computers and information technology devices. Computer buses USB and

* Connected via firewire.

Local area network or LAN;

A LAN is usually a network that connects several computer terminals or other peripheral devices within an area of 5 meters or less. Most LAN workstations and computers provide connectivity. Each computer connected to the LAN has its own CUP that can execute the program. Its main features are as follows:

*LAN topology is usually a Star, Ring or Broadcast channel method.

*Co-axial cable, twisted cable or optical fiber are commonly used as transmission media.

* If using a conventional LAN in the market, the maximum width of the LAN is 5m and the maximum of 5 repeater stations can be used in one LAN.

* LAN can transmit PETA faster.

* Data transmission speed from 1 Mbps to 4 Gbps.

* The maximum number of computer connections in a LAN can be limited.

* It can range from 5 meters to several hundred meters. But of course it's limited to 5 miles.

* The cost of LAN implementation and maintenance is relatively lower than that of MAN and WAB.

* Computers on the LAN are provided with no wireless connection.

* Technically it is known as IEEE 12.3.

LAN section:

Depending on the network's control structure and service delivery, the local area network can be mainly divided into two; Namely -

1. Client-server network or server-based network; And

2. Peer-to-peer network.

Client Server Network:

The client-server network system uses at least one computer as a server. Multiple computers are connected to this server. These connected computers are called workstations or clients. The server serves the client. Multiple users can share server resources from different clients or workstations simultaneously. This means that multiple users can access data files, pinters, various application software from the server.

Advantages:

This network is very easy to setup and low cost. The user can share any resource.

Difficulty; Its security system is very weak. There is no centralized control over this network. There is a problem connecting to multiple networks.
